SAE 52100

Grade Introduction:
SAE 52100 bearing steel is a high-quality Alloy Bearing steel, It belongs to high carbon, chromium-containing low alloy steel. SAE 52100 Oil Quenched & Tempered Hardness is 28-34 HRC. SAE 52100 steel Annealing delivery hardness less than 250HB.
SAE 52100 Alloy bearing steel properties is a chromium, manganese alloy steel specification. SAE 52100 is equivalent to DIN 100Cr6, GB GCr15 steel. Most applications can replace each other.

Grade Application

SAE 52100 steel is widely used for a variety of applications in the used to the bearings in rotating machinery.
Typical applications such as valve bodies, pumps, and fittings, the high load of a wheel, bolts, double-headed bolts, gears, internal combustion engine. Electric locomotives, machine tools, tractors, steel rolling equipment, boring machine, railway vehicle, and mining machinery transmission shaft on the steel ball, roller and shaft sleeve, etc.

Forging Properties

AISI 52100 alloy steel is forged at 927 to 1205°C, and should not be forged below 925ºC. A post-forge equalization treatment is recommended at 745ºC for 4-6 hours followed by air cooling for SAE/AISI 52100 steel.

Stress Relieving

Heat it up to 600-700℃, stay the temperature, furnace cooling. The need for the hardness of mold steel is 187-229HBS. The characters remove the work hardening and residual stress.
