DIN 1.2714

Grade Introduction:
DIN 1.2714 is a German Hot work alloy steel material grade.it is shock-resisting steel. it belongs to DIN 17350 standard. Digital Grade material number W-Nr 1.2714, Metal Steel grade 56NiCrMoV7. It is a die steel, use in extrusion molds, Hot Cast molds. like aluminum production, Aluminum cast mold. Our Tool Steel material 100 % ultrasonic tested at a good price. Small size steel products make by hot rolled, large size steel products make by forging.

Grade Application

1.2714 cold working tool steel is for general-purpose tools and dies where greater toughness is required, but with some sacrifice of abrasion resistance.

Typically used below applications

  • spindles
  • forming rolls
  • punches
  • blanking and forming dies
  • trimmer dies
  • clutch parts
  • pawls
  • bearings
  • chucks parts
  • rollers
  • knuckle pins
  • clutch pins
  • shear blades

Heat Treatment

Heat treatment temperatures, rate of heating, cooling, and soaking times will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium, and workpiece transfer facilities.

Forging Properties

For forging 1.2714 steel, Slowly Pre-heat, at Hot-working temperature/℃: 1050~850

Stress Relieving

When tools made from 1.2714 steel are heavily machined or ground, the relief of internal strains is advisable before hardening to minimize the possibility of distortion. Stress-relieving of this grade should be done after rough machining. To stress relief, heat the component carefully to 600-650°C, allow a good soaking period, about two hours per 25mm of section. Cool in the furnace to 500°C then freely in the air. Tools may then be finish machined before hardening.
