What is EN8D material?
EN8D grade steel is a medium carbon steel offering moderate tensile strengths. The material is capable of through hardening by quenching and tempering on limited sections, but is more commonly supplied in the untreated or normalized condition.
EN8D is carbon steel with enhanced wear resistance. It is known to be surface-hardened version of EN8 by induction processes. It is used in automobile components and other general engineer components. The naming is as per British standards.
The difference between EN8D & EN8:
EN8 is through-hardened medium carbon steel. It used to manufacture parts such as axles, shafts, gears, studs, bolts etc, and can be easily machinable. EN8D has enhanced wear resistance and it’s a carbon steel. It is a surface-hardened version of EN8 by induction processes.

What is En8D Carbon Steel Round Bar ?
